Sport
A Classic Golden Oldie

We knew we wanted another Golden after our Sadie passed on - is there any other kind
of dog? We also knew we wanted an older dog, no leaky puppy parts. Our rescue agent suggested we visit a "real sweet heart" . . . there were a few small problems with him but he was worth a look - so off we went. |
| Sport's history isn't all that atypical. He was found muddy and wet wandering through San Rafael in a driving rain storm. The lady who found him couldn't just drive by so she helped him into her Mercedes - quite a change from the streets! She agreed to be his foster home and sent him to her dog groomer for the full treatment. When we met him he looked like he should be posing for commercials! BTW, Sport never did like rain, perhaps some memory of his early unloved life. | ![]() Speaking of posing . . . here's Sport in full Halloween garb waiting for trick or treaters. |

typical California dog, |
Sport quickly adapted to our home. One of his "little problems" was the fact the he was deaf. I was used to that, my husband hasn't listened to me for years! At least Sport was happy to learn hand signals. Sport attended dog school for a chance to hang out with his friends and scam a few extra treats. He earned his Canine Good Citizen Certificate and was very impressed with the resulting hot dog feast! |
