In March of 1997 we drove from our home in Southeastern Oregon to adopt 7 year old Shadow, who was located in Sacramento, CA. He was a sweetheart from the beginning, but he did have some bad habits. The most disconcerting was that he liked to run--far and wide. We worked intensively on that problem, and today he rarely leaves our side.

Shadow is a very affectionate boy. He loves to be petted, scratched, or rubbed. Wherever we are, he is too. He is a good playmate for our one and a half year old Tia.

Many thanks to his foster mom, who brought him back to good health after life as a stray. Also to the Norcal Golden Retriever Rescue people in Sacramento--what a caring group!
