April, 1998

She has now been with me 2 months
and I can't imagine being without her.

After waiting for several weeks for a female golden to be available in the Bay Area, I decided to make the drive to Sonora to see Murphy Kelly who had been on the list for a while. It is quite a drive from San Francisco on a rainy day and I began to get discouraged before I even got there.

When I reached the foster family's home, I caught a glimpse of Murphy and two black dogs on the outdoor deck. I have to admit my heart dropped a bit as she wasn't what I had expected. But the man of the house brought her in to meet me and Murphy and I went for a short walk. It only took a few moments to know that this loving affectionate girl was going home with me. We made adoption arrangements and went out to my car where Murphy jumped in the back seat.

murphyaa.gif (4493 bytes)She dozed most of the way home and when we arrived I took her in to see her new blue L.L. Bean dog bed. She leaped into the middle of it, stretched out, and looked at me as if to say, "I've been waiting for this all my life!" - She has now been with me 2 months and I can't imagine being without her.

murphybb.gif (4138 bytes)My 16 year old golden died last summer and that big empty spot is now full. - Murphy Kelly has been shortened to Murphy and she is on a diet. She has gone from 93 to 90 lbs. and will be spayed soon. No more puppies for this dog who was used for breeding and then given away.

Welcome home!
