1999 One-year update - Luke is giving back to his brothers and sisters by allowing us to foster another ole boy who was given up due to family illness. He hasn't quite gotten into the spirit of giving, hides his tennis balls or lays on them. The new fella, name of Mike can handle two balls at a time and probably 3 if he could find them.

Luke has made believers out of my 2 daughter in laws who were not pro dogs until they found out what a kind and gentle animal goldens are. He was also a great protector this summer when our family camped in the trinity alps area in northern Ca. We had bear visitors in the night, but his deep growls saved our marshmallows for another night. He also accompanied the ladies to the bathrooms in the dark and waited so patiently for us, keeping an eye out for intruders.
