My husband, son and I had wanted a dog for so long. We researched various breeds and even took "personality" tests so that we could acquire a breed that was compatible for all of us - which is how we came about the Golden Retriever. We contemplated getting a puppy but then through a friend of ours, we learned about NGRR.
Once I browsed through their website and realized there were so many Goldens out there who needed a loving home, we decided that adopting a Golden through NGRR was the way to go. "Parker" was welcomed into our home on September 28th, 2000. He has brought so much joy to our household!! He gives, and receives, much love. He is a very affectionate and obedient fellow and he adapted to all of us wonderfully and quickly. Parker loves his daily walks, although I don't know who's walking who on certain days...he gives me alot of motivation!!!
He has turned out to be the perfect match for
our family and seems to make everything "complete". We are even
thinking of adopting a friend for him soon!!!! And, of course, it would be
through NGRR. I was not aware of this organization before August of this year,
but I am so grateful for it. It is responsible for so many Goldens to get
a second (third or even more!!) chance at a wonderful life, and it is also
responsible for all the love and joy a Golden can give and receive!!!!
